May ’25 – The Anchor

May ’25 – The Anchor

Where can you go and enjoy a pint in the sun while taking in grand views of the Thames? Well, truth be told, there are many options, but few better than The Anchor bankside. This is especially true if you manage to snag a table on the upper outdoor terrace. It’s the perfect place to people-watch, and there are plenty of people to watch. Given its proximity to Borough Market and its location along the Thames, this is a busy place, but not to worry, seating is plentiful both inside and out. There is a warren of rooms for those rainy days, of which London has a few.

You can see St Paul’s in the distance. The Millennium Bridge will take you there. The Globe Theatre is just steps away, but the highlight of the area is Borough Market. Get there early as it can get a little hectic, especially around lunchtime. Can’t-miss takeaways include The Ginger Pig for its amazing sausage rolls and Pieminister for meat pies that will keep you coming back for more. Once you’ve squared away your meal prep for the week, make your way to The Anchor, get a pint in, and relax. You will have earned it after surviving the crowds at the Market.
